Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation awards grants for medical programs

The Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation board of trustees recently approved 13 grants, totaling $52,735, in support of programs and services at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center. Donations from patients, their families, Legacy Health employees and the broader community made these grants possible.

Among the programs the grants will fund is the Legacy Salmon Creek Compassionate Prescriptions Fund, which provides a one- to two-week supply of prescription medication for patients who lack resources to purchase the necessary medications needed in order for them to leave the hospital.

Legacy Salmon Creek’s Spiritual Care Team received funding to help patients heal through therapeutic music and expressive arts therapy, projected to serve at least 400 patients. Other vital services receiving funding include Legacy’s Child Passenger Safety program and Legacy’s Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Education program.

The Foundation advocates and raises funds for Legacy Salmon Creek – part of Legacy Health – the largest locally owned, nonprofit health care provider in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
