WSU Vancouver invites public to discuss the booming hospitality industry
Posted October 31, 2013WSU Vancouver‘s Chancellor’s Seminar Series will offer insight into the booming hospitality industry this Friday, Nov. 1 at 11:45 a.m. in the Firstenburg Student Commons. Tickets are $25 and include lunch, lecture and parking. Tickets can be purchased by calling 360-546-9580.
George Schweitzer, local hospitality industry executive, will discuss the driving forces behind regional growth in the industry and how they benefit the economy as a whole. Nancy Swanger, director and associate professor in the School of Hospitality Business Management at WSU, will offer perspective on the expansion of the hospitality business management program to WSU Vancouver.
WSU Executive Chef Jamie Callison will be present to sign his new cookbook, “The Crimson Spoon.” The 200-page, photo-illustrated cookbook features many of Callison’s highly acclaimed gourmet dishes and recipes. Recipes range from extravagant to simple and draw from each area of WSU’s food resources, such as the Organic Farm and Creamery, as well as from the Pacific Northwest. “The Crimson Spoon” will be available for $38.
