Kids Vote 2014 on now through Nov. 4 in Clark County
Posted October 31, 2014Students in grades kindergarten through 12 have begun voting in a mock election put together by Kids Vote 2014. The non-profit seeks to involve kids in the voting process from an early age. Its goal is to inspire future voters and get every student to join in the process.
Kids Vote 2014 electronic voting went live the day ballots were mailed and will end at 8 p.m. on election day Tuesday, Nov. 4. A link to the ballot is on the “Vote Here” page at www.KidsVote2014.com. Boundaries for Legislative Districts and School Districts do not match. Where necessary, students will vote for the Legislative District candidates that include the most school district’s area.
Among the elected officials that support the Kids Vote 2014 mock election are Governor Jay Inslee, Senator Maria Cantwell, Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt, Clark County commissioners, Freeholders, and others. Their letters to Clark County students discuss the importance of voting and responsible citizenship.
