Vancouver Parks and Recreation is gearing up for spring and summer with a special Family Fun Day this Saturday, May 3, at the Marshall Community Center, 1009 E. McLoughlin Blvd., Vancouver.

Free activities start at 2 p.m. and include public swims, swim lesson evaluations, aerobics class demos, sports activities in the gym and outside, a volunteer park clean-up project and dance, music and pottery presentations. Learn about all the great services Vancouver Parks and Recreation has to offer and take advantage of one-time discounts on summer registration.

“Frozen” will start at 6:30 p.m. on the big screen in the Marshall Center gym. Free popcorn will be provided. Access to the gym will begin at 5:30 p.m. A limited number of chairs will be available, but most seating will be on the gym floor, so feel free to bring something soft to sit on (outside chairs will not be allowed).

Families are also invited to volunteer and help make Marshall Park look its best with the “Grand Marshall Park Clean Up” event from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the park. Volunteers can spend as much time working in the park as they wish and participants will receive a prize.
