Entertainment, adventure and hands-on learning for girls and families at GirlFest Nov. 2
Posted October 31, 2013Hosted by Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington and presented by Wells Fargo, GirlFest will take place at the Portland Expo Center on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Girls can sit in the cockpit of an aircraft, climb a fire truck, try their hand at science experiments, plan world travel, earn a Girl Scout badge, make a marionette and more. Female role models in engineering, sports, technology, entrepreneurship, and health care will be on hand to help girls learn about and sample future careers. The event is open to all girls and their families, regardless of whether or not they are Girl Scouts. Tickets are $20 at the door, children ages four and under are free.
