Downtown Camas Association and Journey Church receive award

The Downtown Camas Association (DCA) and Journey Community Church received the Community Partnership award at Washington Main Street’s Excellence on Main Awards Ceremony. The ceremony was held last week in conjunction with RevitalizeWA, Washington State’s Preservation and Main Street Conference.
“The partnership between DCA and Journey is a unique example of the power of having a shared vision for downtown,” says Breanne Durham, Washington State Main Street Coordinator.
The partnership with Journey makes year-round, free community events feasible for DCA by providing a large venue during poor weather, volunteers to help run promotions, and activities for children. Events like Girls’ Night Out, Camas Car Show, Plant & Garden Fair, and DCA’s Annual Awards Dinner rely on the unique community space.
The Excellence on Main Awards recognize communities, organizations, and individuals who are helping to achieve economic vitality and build sustainable communities through downtown revitalization and preservation.
