County seeks leaders to “fast track” new toll-free bi-state bridges
Posted December 29, 2015The Board of County Councilors is setting up two task forces to examine prospects for toll-free bridges across the Columbia River over the next six months. Each task force will include 10 community leaders from Washington and Oregon to “gather, study, and then provide a written recommendation for a community supported design that can be fast-tracked, funded and constructed in a timely manner,” says Board Chair David Madore.
A proposed East County bridge would be located between I-205 and Troudale. The mayors of Troutdale, Fairview and Wood Village have asked to join in that effort. A proposed West County bridge would be located west of Portland International Airport. More information can be found at:
