Clark County Quilters host Bill Volckening Jan. 14

Bill Volckening collected quilts to display on the walls of his home for more than 20 years. He periodically changed the quilts to match wall color, furniture, and his own preferences. During those years Volckening was pursuing a hobby, without knowing it would lead him to stardom in the quilt world, award-winning photography, award-winning quilt making, and global exhibition of his quilts and publications. The Volckening Collection now includes more than 300 quilts from the 18th century to the 21st century.
Clark County Quilters of Vancouver, will host Volckening at its general meeting on Thursday, Jan. 14. The meeting will be held at the Vancouver Church of Christ, 9019 NE 86th St. There will be a social hour from 6 to 7 p.m. Non-member guests will pay a $5 speaker fee.
