City hosts toy and gift drive for employee now through Dec. 3

The City of Vancouver invites the community to support “Korey’s Joy Drive,” a toy and gift drive in honor of Korey Cochran, a Computer Support Specialist in the City’s Information Technology Department who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. The City and will collect unwrapped toys now through Thursday, Dec. 3, for Korey’s two young children, as well as gift cards to support family expenses such as groceries and gas. New, unwrapped toys or gifts cards are being collected at the following locations:

      •  City Hall’s front desk: 415 W Sixt St.
      •  Vancouver Tennis Center’s front desk: 5300 E 18th St.
      •  Marshall Community Center’s front desk: 1009 E McLoughlin Blvd.
      •  Firstenburg Community Center’s front desk: 700 NE 136th Ave.

These gifts will be hand-delivered to the Cochran residence at noon on Friday, Dec. 4. Unwrapped toys and gifts are also being collected for donation to local Vancouver charities in Korey’s honor.
