Section of Borin Road to close temporarily for culvert replacement in Washougal

Friday, July 29, 2016

UnknownBeginning next week, a short section of NE Borin Rd. in Washougal will be closed to all traffic so a contractor can replace a failing culvert. An unnamed tributary of the Washougal River flows through the culvert, which is rusty, undersized and about 85 percent filled with debris. The failing culvert will be replaced by a much larger structure to allow fish passage in a rural area northeast of Washougal. The work will require closing a section of the street, about one-eighth mile east of NE Hughes Rd., beginning Tuesday, Aug. 2. The county’s contractor, McNealy Excavating Inc. of Washougal, expects to reopen the road by the beginning of September. A map showing the detour is available at: www.clark.wa.gov/public-works.
