YWCA Clark County is now accepting nominations for the 2016 Val Joshua Racial Justice Award and Youth Social Justice Award. Each year, these two awards are presented to those who have demonstrated leadership working toward eliminating racism and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people.

The Val Joshua Awards are for individuals, groups, businesses, or organizations; this award was originally given to Val Joshua in 1989 to recognize her life-long commitment and work toward the elimination of racism.

There are two awards recognized during our Community Celebration: Val Joshua Racial Justice Award and the Youth Social Justice Award. Nominations are being accepted now through May 4, with the Community Awards Celebration taking place on June 1.
