The third annual Slack Key Guitar Festival is slated for Sunday, Mar. 6, at 2 p.m., at the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics’ Royal Durst Theater.

Presented by the Ke Kukui Foundation in partnership with Kahoku Productions, the event will features the great music of LT Smooth, Bobby Moderow, Ian O’Sullivan, Stephen Inglis, Donald Kaulia, Chris Lau, and local talent Kaloku Holt. The ever popular and knowledgeable Harry B. Soria will return as MC.

Magenta Theater’s improv troupe, Magenta Improv Theater (MIT) will perform it first show at Magenta Theater’s new location, 1108 Main St. on Saturday, Mar. 5. Performances are in the style of Whose Line Is It Anyway? but in a more “collegiate” format.

MIT players are adults and teens, and their shows are always clean and family-friendly. Audience participation is voluntary, and nobody will be called on unless he or she signals a desire to participate. The MIT players’ goal is simply to deliver a fun, laughter-filled evening.

Native Women’s View of Lewis and Clark at CCHM’s First Thursday Mar. 3

Clark County Historical Museum‘s (CCHM) First Thursday features Pat Courtney Gold presenting “Native Women’s View of Lewis and Clark.” Most the books written are about Lewis and Clark  from a white man’s perspective. Gold has consulted with Elders along the Columbia River to include their memories and stories of encounters with the Lewis and Clark expedition. She will also bring artifacts to highlight her presentation.

A member of the Wasco tribe, Gold is an accomplished fiber artist and basket weaver. She teaches, consults, and has pieces of her work shown in museums and collections around the world.

This event is this Thursday, Mar. 3, at 7 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, $2 for children under 18, and free with museum membership. Port of Camas-Washougal announces completion of Bldg. 17

Bldg.17_AngleViewThe Port of Camas-Washougal has announced the completion of Bldg. 17 in Steigerwald Commerce Center. This three-bay, 24,300 sq.ft. structure is the Port’s second building in Phase 1 and has been designed and built to reflect the standards of the developing business park. The Port and contractor Team Construction LLC completed a final walk-through on Feb. 5 and deemed the building ready for occupancy. Foods In Season will occupy Bay 1, a 13,500 square foot space. The other two 5,400 square foot bays are also leased. Find the full story, here.
