Friday, July 31, 2015

 NNO2015

The Fircrest Neighborhood Association (with help from several other neighborhoods) is hosting the Eastside Community Picnic and National Night Out at LeRoy Haagen Memorial Community Park this Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 3 to 10:30 p.m.

Festivities include a bounce house and obstacle course (25 cents per turn, or $5 for unlimited turns), the EDITH Trailer (fire safety), photo booth, face painting, sidewalk art, movie in the park and more. Families can bring a picnic or enjoy food from local food carts. There will also be information booths from organizations such as the Red Cross, Department of Health and Human Services, Friends of the Columbia Gorge, Evergreen Robotics Team and PDX Noise Control.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. Neighborhood groups are planning events to help neighbors get to know each other and talk about how they can make their neighborhood even stronger. Vancouver residents can find out if their neighborhood is participating by visiting http://www.cityofvancouver.us/cmo/page/neighborhoods.
