Evergreen Habitat for Humanity’s 10th annual Golf Tournament June 4, early bird pricing ends Apr. 3

EvergreenHabitatGolfTournament-600x398Join Evergreen Habitat for Humanity (EHFH) on Thursday, June 4, as they “Build a Home in 18 Holes” at the 10th annual Golf Tournament held at the Camas Meadows Golf Course. Each hole will have an exciting game that is representative of the construction process, from selecting the family to the famous home dedication ceremony.

The format will be a 4-person scramble along with a delicious barbecue lunch and prize raffle immediately after. Register to play by this Friday, Apr. 3 to take advantage of the early bird price of $125 per player. After Apr. 3, the price to play will be $150 per player.

Through volunteer labor and tax deductible donations of money and materials, EHFH builds simple, decent houses with the help of homeowner (partner) families. Leadership Clark County hosts reception to introduce new executive director

leadershipclarkcountyLeadership Clark County (LCC) invites alumni, current class members, supporters and prospective candidates to a community reception on Thursday, Apr. 16, to meet the organization’s new Executive Director, Angel Escobedo. The free event will be held in the Skybox Restaurant at Big Al’s, 16615 SE 18th St. in east Vancouver, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. with remarks starting around 5:45 p.m. Light appetizers and beverages will be provided. Rose will present “No Substitute for Murder” at Clearwater Springs Assisted Living this afternoon, Thursday, Apr. 2, from 3 to 4 p.m. Rose, author of No Substitute for Murder and more than a dozen other mysteries, will share the elements of the classic “whodunit.” She’ll talk about the importance of characterization, the motives that drive her fictional characters to kill, and the task of creating a pool of possible suspects to complicate the plot. She’ll also discuss the responsibility of the writer to play fair with readers by providing clues that allow them to “play along” with the sleuth.
