Fifth annual Columbia River Concours D’ Elegance this Sunday

The Fort Vancouver National Trust will present the 2014 Columbia River Concours d’Elegance, Sunday, Aug. 3, along Officers Row on the grounds of historic Fort Vancouver. Over 100 classic cars restored to showroom polish will be on display.
Each celebrating their 100th anniversary, the 2014 show will feature Maserati and Dodge in addition to other famous names such as Jaguar, Bentley, Ferrari, Mercedes Benz, Alpha Romeo, Austin Healey, MG, Porsche, Triumph, Cadillac, Corvette, Lincoln, Morgan, and a host of others. Two classes also include commercial vehicles and motorcycles, scooters and boats.
The event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The award ceremony will begin at 3:30 p.m. Admission is $12 in advance and $15 on the day of the event. Children 12 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at columbiariverconcours.com/tickets.
Columbia Springs’ annual fundraiser Aug. 8
Thursday, July 31, 2014The community is invited to help the next generation get hooked on nature by attending Columbia Springs’ annual fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, at Royal Oaks Country Club. Funds raised at this event will support environmental education programming for kids in Clark County. Guests will enjoy dinner, live music, a silent auction, photo booth, and more.

Arts Commission calling for entries for two-dimensional art show
Thursday, July 31, 2014The Clark County Arts Commission has announced an open call for two-dimensional art to hang in the Sixth-Floor Gallery in the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. The pieces would be on exhibit from October through December. Interested artists can send four JPEG images representative of a larger body of work ‒ at least eight pieces ‒ and a unifying theme title to sixthfloorgallery@clarkcountyartscommission.org by tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 1. Works will be juried, and artists notified by Friday, Aug. 8. To be eligible to participate, artists must live or work in a studio in Clark County.
