Vancouver Housing Commission hosts “First Tuesday Presentation” Mar. 5

The community is invited to attend a “First Tuesday Presentation” hosted by the Vancouver Planning Commission  Tuesday, Mar. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the Vancouver City Hall Council Chambers, 415 W. 6th St. in downtown Vancouver. The event is free and no policy changes will be made. Local experts will discuss how Vancouver’s housing stock is positioned to meet future needs as the region emerges from the recession and faces changing financial constraints, consumer preferences, and demographics. “Networking 4 Newbies” workshop at DIY Marketing Center Mar. 1

DIY Marketing presents a “Networking 4 Newbies” workshop tomorrow, Mar. 1, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the DIY Marketing Center, 1101 Broadway in downtown Vancouver. The event is $10 for the public and $5 for members of DIY Mastermind, I Take the Lead, UEN, or the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.

The workshop is designed for new small business owners that want to figure out how to use networking to build a business, connect with potential strategic partners, and expand a contacts base. It will help those new to the area make connections with the locals in a safe, low-key environment and get connected the small business community through personal networking.

Facilitated by professional coach Veronika Noize, the workshop is for small business owners and job seekers who want to enjoy the benefits of connection through networking, but don’t know where to start, or have been frustrated by time and energy invested in networking with very few results to show for it. Roman Schauer joins Children’s Center Board of Directors

Children’s Center has announced that Roman Schauer, owner of Digital Marketing Department, has joined the Board of Directors. Schauer joins twelve other community leaders to form the policy-making body of Children’s Center which has ultimate authority for the governance and management of its direction and finances.

Schauer has years of experience helping entrepreneurs, team leaders and executive directors devise and execute online communications strategy. He co-founded a marketing company that worked with big names in media, including major record labels, sports franchises, and entertainment companies. He has spearheaded the creation of specialized Web content and custom database-integrated websites for scores of businesses. Roman received his communications education from the University of Alabama.

Children’s Center is a nonprofit mental health agency serving the needs of children, youth and families within Clark County. The expansion of the Board of Directors ensures that the agency will continue to benefit from a wide range of experience and insight.
