New city administrator for Camas

Monday, December 31, 2012

Nina Regor

Mayor Scott Higgins has announced the appointment of Nina D. Regor as Camas city administrator. Regor has been the city manager of Cloverdale, California since 2007. She was the deputy city manager of Spokane Valley, from 2003 to 2007. From 1991 to 2003, Regor worked for the City of Gresham, Oregon, where she was promoted from budget analyst to assistant city Manager. Regor has both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in public management and policy from Carnegie Mellon University.

“I’m very excited to become Camas’ next city administrator; it’s like coming home,” says Regor. “My grandparents lived here for many years—my mother was raised here and graduated from Camas High School. Everyone I have met so far has expressed pride in the Camas community and optimism for the future, and I look forward to being a part of that.”

The Mayor’s appointment requires formal confirmation by the Camas City Council. The City used Waldron Company, a Portland based recruitment firm, to assist in the hiring processes. The process employed a “partner’s panel” in the interviews. The panel included Camas’ former Mayors Nan Henriksen, Dean Dossett and Paul Dennis. Other participants in the partner’s panel included Council members Melissa Smith and Tim Hazen, School Superintendent Mike Nerland, Port of Camas/Washougal Executive Director David Ripp, and Washougal City Administrator David Scott.
