“Walk with a Doc” to celebrate National ParkRx Day April 22Posted April 20th, 2017
Fort Vancouver National Historic Site has partnered with Kaiser Permanente to host a walk along the Spruce Mill Trail with a doctor and park ranger from 1 to 2 p.m. this Saturday, April 22. Participants can learn about Fort Vancouver’s Park Prescription Program (ParkRx), which encourages visitors to utilize the park’s trails as a means to a healthier lifestyle. National park rangers will also discuss the site’s World War I history in honor of this year’s centennial commemorations of the United States’ entry into the war. Admission is free, family-friendly, and no registration is necessary. ParkRx trail maps are also available as a PDF at https://www.nps.gov/fova/planyourvisit/parkrx.htm.
