VSO Young Artists Performance April 22 and 23Posted April 13th, 2017
The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) continues its 38th season with a concert that features the talents of the three gold medalists of the 23rd annual Young Artists Competition. The concerts on Saturday, April 22, at 3 p.m., and Sunday, April 23, at 7 p.m., will begin with the charming Lyric Suite by Edvard Grieg, and will also feature Ottorino Respighi’s monumental Pines of Rome.
These masterworks by Grieg and Respighi will frame the performances by the three Young Artists winners: Ashley Teng (flute), Symphony Koss (violin), Trevor Natiuk (piano). All three won the right to appear with Maestro Brotons and the VSO by delivering extraordinary performances in front of a capacity crowd at the final live round of competition on January 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church.
The home of The VSO, Skyview Concert Hall, is located at 1300 NW 139th St. in Vancouver. Tickets are available now at vancouversymphony.org or 360-735-7278. The Vancouver Symphony’s 2017-2018 Season lineup will also be announced. Special discount pricing on season tickets will be available only at these concerts.
