Volunteers needed at YWCA Clark County; free training April 10Posted April 4th, 2012
YWCA Clark County is currently seeking volunteers to start in April. Attend the free “Introduction to Volunteer Service” on Tuesday, April 10, from 6 to 8:30 p.m at the YWCA Clark County Community Room, 3609 Main St. in Vancouver. No reservation is needed. YWCA Clark County has a strong need for volunteers to advocate for victim-survivors of domestic violence, advocate for adult and youth victim-survivors of sexual assault, represent the best interests of abused and neglected children in the court system, and provide encouragement and information about community resources to women in jail. Other opportunities include helping in a preschool classroom and assisting youth who are aging out foster care gain access to employment and housing. Programs currently have a need for more male volunteers and volunteers who are bilingual or bicultural.
