Vancouver Volcanoes’ Community BBQ July 1Posted June 26th, 2012
To show appreciation for their fans and the local community, the Vancouver Volcanoes will host a community barbecue from 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, in the Clark College parking lot, 1840 Fort Vancouver Way in Vancouver. Over 1,000 are anticipated to attend the free event, which is scheduled prior to the Volcanoes’ final home game of the International Basketball League (IBL)’s regular season. The family-friendly event features free food, drinks, live music, games, entertainment, and raffle prizes, including a brand new Apple iPad, courtesy of American Family Insurance. Volcanoes’ players and dancers will also be present at the event, giving the team a chance to get to know their fans.
The Vancouver Volcanoes are an IBL franchise and the 2011 IBL champion. Established in 2005, the Vancouver-based professional basketball team plays its home games at O’Connell Sports Center at Clark College. The organization emphasizes creating a family-friendly atmosphere at games, providing activities for kids, contests for fans, and high-scoring action.
