chief_molina_may_2011_005The City of Vancouver’s Fire Chief Joseph Molina has been selected to serve as a member of the FEMA National Advisory Council RESPONSE Subcommittee. Molina will be one of 22 members, and one of three fire chiefs, to serve on the subcommittee. Recent legislation directed FEMA to establish the Railroad Emergency Services Preparedness Operational Needs and Safety Evaluation (RESPONSE) Subcommittee under its National Advisory Council to provide recommendations regarding emergency responder training and resources related to hazardous materials incidents involving railroads. Letters of support for Molina’s application were submitted by all three members of the city’s congressional delegation, U.S. Senator Patty Murray, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell and U.S. Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler.
