“Traditional Technology Day” at the plankhouse Aug. 13

Friends of Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge invite the community to “Traditional Technology Day” this Sunday, Aug. 13, from noon to 4 p.m., at the Cathlapotle Plankhouse. Visitors will discover tools, techniques, and technology that indigenous people all around the world have used for tens of thousands of years. This year features a suite of native artists from the Chinook Indian Nation and the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde in the plankhouse. Artists Greg Robinson, Greg Archuleta, and Deven Robinson will be onsite providing conversations and demonstrations on everything from carving and pigments, to first foods.
