The Bigfoots come to North Bonneville July 6, during Gorge DaysPosted June 26, 2012
An entire family of Sasquatch have arrived in the Columbia Gorge community of North Bonneville. The largest sculpture is 12 feet tall and weighs 1500 pounds. The city plans a public unveiling at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 6. The event, open to the public, will take place at the city entrance. The Bigfoot family concept was developed by the city’s Heritage Trails Committee as part of interpretive features along the 12 miles of pathways in and around the community. In addition to the main family, there are eight Bigfoot children hiding out in the trees and rocks along a 1/4 mile paved loop in the community park. The unveiling of the largest Sasquatch, the “Great Elder,” will coincide with the city’s annual Gorge Days festivities, including a classic car show, BBQ dinner, and sock-hop dance.
