Steigerwald Commerce Center groundbreaking ceremony Aug. 16Posted August 7th, 2012
A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16, at the site of the proposed Steigerwald Commerce Center, on the corner of S. Truman and 37th Streets in Washougal. Attendees should take the 32nd St. exit from SR-14 in Washougal and follow the signs through the Port Industrial Park. The groundbreaking will be attended by port commissioners, staff, and elected officials, and is also open to the public. As the largest undeveloped, contiguous parcel of industrial land in Clark County, the 122+ acres of the new Steigerwald Commerce Center are expected to create many jobs, once fully developed. Phase 1 of this project is funded by a $1.5 million Washington State grant, allocated as part of the recent state budget package designed to boost economic growth. Specifically, the port will be adding infrastructure that includes approximately 2,500 linear feet of street. This first phase will make available 30-40 acres of heavy industrial property. Full build-out of the property is expected to match demand as the port responds to market conditions. For more details, contact Jack Hardy at 360-835-2196, ext. 110.
