Seton senior wins first place in Congressional STEM competition, will be featured on FOX 12 Sept. 5

Seton Catholic College Prep has announced that senior Mason Bruce was the first place winner in the first Congressional Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Academic Competition, a programming competition for high school students. U.S. Representatve Jaime Herrera Beutler, recently awarded him this honor. Its purpose was to engage students’ creativity and to encourage them to consider a STEM career. Bruce won first place for his grading application, “A+ Grade Calculator.” Using only Java, HTML or other programming languages, he created the app, bought an Apple license and plans to release his app to the Apple Store soon. Bruce will be featured on Friday Night Lights, FOX 12, on Friday, Sept. 5, at 10:30 p.m.
