Rotary Club hosts “Southwest Washington’s Got Talent” contest; entries close Aug. 22

Vancouver Sunrise Rotary is sponsoring Southwest Washington’s Got Talent. Entries close Wednesday, Aug. 22. Anyone is welcome to enter, regardless of age or amateur status. Any performing art is welcome. Online voting determines the top finishers. The top 10 vote-getters will perform before a live audience in September. To enter, submit a video and a $15 entry fee at www.southwestwashingtonsgottalent.com. The community will vote for its favorites online for $1 per vote. Proceeds support community projects, including the Santa’s Posse holiday food and gift drive, and student scholarships. The final performance will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9, on the last evening of the Vancouver Sausage Festival, at St. Joseph Catholic School, 6500 Highland Dr. in Vancouver. The top three winners will be chosen by a combination of online voting, judges, and audience response. The first-place winner will receive $1,200, the second-place finisher will get $800, and third place wins $400. Admission is free with Sausage Festival admission.
