Overcrowding halts intake of cats at Humane SocietyPosted July 27th, 2012
The Humane Society for Southwest Washington (HSSW) has temporarily suspended the intake of stray and owner-surrendered cats. The steady flow of abandoned cats has not let up since May. As a result, Clark County’s only open-admission animal sheltering facility is temporarily unable to accept stray cats or owner-surrendered cats. Those who find stray cats or kittens can refer to the HSSW website or call 360-693-4746. To encourage cat adoptions, the HSSW has extended its “Name Your Own Price” cat adoption promotion through August. Patrons can adopt any cat or kitten and decide how much they are willing to pay. All adoptions include spay or neuter surgery, a microchip ID system with national registration, and vaccinations. For details, visit www.southwesthumane.org.
