M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust announces new trustee

Jeff PinneoThe M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust has announced that Jeffrey D. Pinneo will become a trustee of the foundation beginning September 1. Pinneo succeeds Dr. Lynwood W. Swanson, who will retire and become trustee emeritus after 29 years of trustee service to the Murdock Trust. Swanson is one of the longest current-serving trustees of any foundation in the Northwest.

Pinneo comes to the trust after his recent retirement as president and CEO of Medical Teams International. Previous to Medical Teams International, Pinneo served 29 years with Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, 9 years as president and CEO of Horizon. Pinneo has served on a number of boards and advisory committees, including Seattle Pacific University School of Business, Washington State University School of Business, Pacific Continental Bank and the Seattle Hospitality Group.

In its 40-year history, the Murdock Trust has grown from its $91 million endowment in 1975 to $1.1 billion in assets and has awarded more than $850 million in grants and programs to more than 2,500 nonprofits, primarily in the Pacific Northwest. To learn more, visit www.murdock-trust.org.
