Luncheon raises over $65,000 for Legacy Salmon Creek’s cancer services

More than 250 community members gathered at the Hilton Vancouver on Nov. 16 for the Salmon Creek Cares Luncheon to support cancer services at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center. Hosted by Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation, the event netted over $65,000.

The hospital’s cancer services are designed to support patients both physically and emotionally–from preventive screenings and early diagnosis, to treatment and recovery assistance. The foundation recently established a $1.5 million fundraising campaign to expand Legacy Salmon Creek’s cancer services.

During the luncheon, four Legacy physicians who focus on female cancers shared the latest cutting-edge cancer treatments offered at the Legacy Center for Women’s Cancers–Salmon Creek. The panel included Legacy Salmon Creek’s newest surgeon, Cory Donovan, M.D. A cancer survivor herself, Dr. Donovan is Vancouver’s first fellowship-trained breast surgeon.
