Local seniors invited to Free Day at Oregon Zoo Sept. 19

Local seniors can reconnect with wildlife Tuesday, Sept. 19, during Senior Safari, a free day at the Oregon Zoo for anyone 65 or older. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., seniors (who may each bring along one free companion for the day) can attend animal talks, explore the grounds, and enjoy free rides on the zoo train and carousel. Throughout the day, visitors can also catch up with some honored citizens from the animal world. The Oregon Zoo has earned a stellar reputation for the exceptional and innovative care it provides its senior residents; many live far beyond the median life expectancy for their species, and some are even the oldest of their kind.
