Labor Day Steam Train Specials at the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad
Posted August 25, 2014The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad presents a Steam Labor Day Special this Saturday, Aug. 30 and Sunday, Sept. 1, in Yacolt. Departure times are noon and 2:30 p.m., from the station, NE Railroad Ave. The train will run to Moulton Falls, through a 330 foot solid rock tunnel with a stop at Moulton Station to visit Yacolt Falls. Tickets cost $20 for adults; $15 for youth ages five through 12; $13 for youth ages two through four; two and under are free. Seniors ages 60 and over are $19. Guests should arrive 30 minutes prior to departure. The Chelatche Prairie Railroad runs May through December with regularly scheduled “specials.” Track work, car and locomotive maintenance, and running the train is all run by volunteers.
