Vancouver’s annual Korey’s Joy Drive kicks off Monday

The City of Vancouver invites the community to support the third annual Korey’s Joy Drive, a toy drive in memory of Korey Cochran, a city employee, who passed away this year at age 38 from a rare form of brain cancer. The city will collect new, unwrapped toys from Nov. 13 through Dec. 11, at any of the following locations:

* All IQ Credit Union branch locations
* Vancouver City Hall lobby: 415 W Sixth St.
* Firstenburg Community Center front desk: 700 NE 136th Ave.
* Marshall Community Center: 1009 E McLoughlin Blvd.
* Vancouver Tennis Center: 5300 E 18th St.
* Water Resources Education Center: 4600 SE Columbia Way
* Vancouver Police West Precinct: 2800 NE Stapleton Rd.
* Vancouver Police East Precinct: 520 SE 155th Ave.
* Vancouver Fire Station 5: 7110 NE 63rd St.
* Operations Center: 2323 Anderson Rd.
* Clark County Public Service Center 5th floor IT Department: 1300 Franklin St.
* Bridge Chiropractic: 7317 E Mill Plain Blvd.
* The Beauty Box Salon & Spa: 11215 NE 28th St., Ste. 2 in Portland
* Marquam: 811 SW Naito Parkway, Ste. 600 in Portland

All donations will be delivered to Randall Children’s Hospital and Open House Ministries the week of Dec 18. “Korey was a wonderful man, committed husband and father. He worked for the City of Vancouver for more than ten years.” says Katherine Nye, IT Technical Services Manager and Korey’s former supervisor at the City of Vancouver. “Korey’s Joy Drive is the dity’s way of remembering Korey. Together, with community support, we will bring a joyful and memorable Christmas to so many deserving families in our community.”
