Jazz choirs perform at Clark College March 9

The Clark College Vocal Jazz Ensemble, directed by Janet Reiter, will join forces with Thomas Jefferson and Alki Middle School Choirs, directed by Katie Hebner, on Friday, March 9, in Gaiser Hall on Clark’s main campus at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way. The performance, which begins at 7:30 p.m. and is open to the public, will conclude with all three vocal groups singing Duke Ellington’s “It Don’t Mean a Thing if It Ain’t Got That Swing.” The Clark Vocal Jazz Ensemble will also perform several new arrangements by Northwest jazz keyboardist Mike Horsfall. The concert is free, but donations will be accepted at the door to benefit Clark’s vocal jazz program. For more details, contact Peggy Winston at 360-992-2662, or visit www.clark.edu.
