Jack Burkman, who has been an active member of the Southwest Washington community for almost three decades, was recently reappointed to the Clark College Board of Trustees by Gov. Jay Inslee. His five-year term will begin October 1. This will be Burkman’s second term on the board; his first began in 2008.

Burkman is currently a Vancouver City Council member. He most recently served as the Southwest Region Planning Manager for Washington State Department of Transportation. Prior to that, he worked for Hewlett Packard for nearly 28 years – including 21 years in Vancouver.

In addition to his role as a Clark College Trustee, he has been involved in many other community organizations and institutions, including the Columbia River Economic Development Council, NAACP, Fort Vancouver Regional Library Board, YWCA Clark County Board, and the Cascade Park Civic Association. He is also currently the Treasurer for League of United Latin American Citizens.
