Flood insurance maps available onlinePosted April 2nd, 2012
Final flood insurance rate maps prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency are now available on Clark County’s website here. The maps identify local flood hazard zones, including “base flood” areas that have a one-percent chance of being inundated in any year. The maps indicate properties where mortgage lenders may require flood insurance and where floodplain development regulations may apply. Property owners are encouraged to examine the maps because some land has been added and some removed from flood hazard zones, resulting in different insurance and development requirements. The flood insurance rate maps and related flood study for Clark County take effect Sept. 5, 2012. For more details, click here.
