Extra DUI patrols June 22 through July 8Posted June 21, 2012
Clark County law enforcement personnel will be participating in a statewide crackdown on drinking and impaired drivers for this two week period. DUI patrols will be working on county roads, city streets, and state highways during this period to reduce the number of impaired drivers on roadways. Drinking before driving is a decision with life-altering—or deadly—consequences, both for the driver and for others. Police officers, sheriff’s deputies, and Washington State Patrol troopers will commit extra patrol hours to make the roadways safer for everyone. These efforts support Washington’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan to reduce traffic fatalities to zero by the year 2030. The Clark County Target Zero Traffic Safety Taskforce organizes and supports this enforcement effort. Funding for enforcement activity is provided by Washington Traffic Safety Commission.
