Dunn and Sturm named April Clark College Student Athletes of the Month

Taylor Dunn

Players from Clark College’s baseball and softball teams have been named the April Student Athletes of the Month.

Freshman pitcher/outfielder Taylor Dunn came to Clark from Lake Oswego High School.  He went 3-1 in the month of April. Dunn’s only loss came against Centralia, where he pitched a nine-inning complete game, giving up just five hits.

Erica Sturm

Erica Sturm was honored for solid hitting, which includes her first college home run and four RBIs, Sturm has been asked to play center field, shortstop and second base.  Sturm, who is from Battle Ground, has also excelled in the classroom with a 3.0-plus grade point average.

The Student Athlete of the Month program recognizes both the academic and athletic achievements of Clark’s student athletes. Two recipients are selected each month by a committee that includes Clark College coaches, athletic department personnel, and fellow students.

Each honoree receives a jacket with his or her name embroidered on it. The jackets are provided by Les Schwab through its support of the “Student Athlete of the Month” program, in partnership with Clark’s Penguin Athletic Club and the Clark College Foundation.
