Clark College Hosts A “Seuss-a-Palooza”

Clark College’s Service Learning Program and the Clark College Bookstore are inviting community members to purchase 250 books that will be donated to kindergarten students at Vancouver’s Fruit Valley and Harney Elementary schools on Wednesday, March 2. Read Across America Day commemorates the birthday of Dr. Seuss with literacy events around the nation.
School officials and teachers were asked to select Dr. Seuss books for their kindergarteners to receive. They selected Green Eggs and Ham and One Fish, Two Fish as well as the Spanish/English bilingual edition of The Cat in the Hat.
Copies of each book will be available for purchase and donation at the Clark College Bookstore from today, Monday, Feb. 7, until Friday, Feb. 18, for $6.85 each (plus tax). Each book will have a nameplate for the donor’s name.
The Clark College Bookstore is located in Gaiser Hall on the northern end of Clark’s main campus. Clark College is located at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver.
For more information, contact Marti Earhart at the Clark College Bookstore at 360-992-2261.
In addition to supporting the book drive, dozens of volunteers from Clark College’s Service Learning department will participate in Read Across America Day by reading Dr. Seuss books at Fruit Valley, Harney, and Washington Elementary Schools.
