Clark honors student athletes

Angela Gardner
Student athletes Angela Gardner and Carlos Mendoza have been honored as the October 2010 “Athletes of the Month” at Clark College. Gardner has been attending Clark full-time and working more than 40 hours a week in addition to playing soccer. This was Gardner’s final year competing on the Clark soccer team.

Carlos Mendoza
Carlos Mendoza was a two-year starter for the men’s soccer team and served as a goal keeper. With a 3.4 grade point average, Mendoza plans to continue his education as a student athlete at a four-year college or university.
The Student Athlete of the Month program recognizes both the academic and athletic achievements of Clark’s student athletes. Two recipients are selected each month by a committee that includes Clark College coaches, athletic department personnel, and fellow students.
Each honoree receives a jacket with his or her name engraved on it. The jackets are provided by Les Schwab through its support of the “Student Athlete of the Month” program, in partnership with Clark’s Penguin Athletic Club and the Clark College Foundation.
