Clark College honors May Student Athletes of the Month

Katarina Mueller

Two All-American athletes have been named the Clark College Student Athletes of the Month for May 2011. Tyler Lane and Katarina Mueller were honored for their accomplishments on Clark’s track and field teams.

Freshman Mueller came to Clark from Mountain View High School.  An All-American in the 10K, Mueller placed second in that event at the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) championships with a time of 40:10.

Tyler Lane

Sophomore Tyler Lane came to Clark from Skyview High School. An All-American in the high jump, Lane is the two-time high jump NWAACC champion, jumping over 6’7” in 2010 and 2011.

The Student Athlete of the Month program recognizes both the academic and athletic achievements of Clark’s student athletes.  Two recipients are selected each month by a committee that includes Clark College coaches, athletic department personnel, and fellow students.

Each honoree receives a jacket with her or his name embroidered on it. The jackets are provided by Les Schwab through its support of the “Student Athlete of the Month” program, in partnership with Clark’s Penguin Athletic Club and the Clark College Foundation.
