Laura Luther

Two freshmen have been named the March 2011 Clark College Student Athletes of the Month. Laura Luther plays third base on Clark’s softball team. Evan Pickett plays first base for Clark’s baseball team.  Both came to Clark from Columbia River High School.

Luther is hitting .533 with a slugging percentage of 1.289, has hit eight home runs, 29 RBIs and been walked 10 times in 13 games. Luther has also earned a GPA of 3.65.

Pickett has a .345 batting average with 14 RBIs. He has a 3.46 GPA.

The Student Athlete of the Month program recognizes both the academic and athletic achievements of Clark’s student athletes.  Two recipients are selected each month by a committee that includes Clark College coaches, athletic department personnel, and fellow students.

Each honoree receives a jacket with her or her name embroidered on it, provided by Les Schwab through its support of the “Student Athlete of the Month” program, in partnership with Clark’s Penguin Athletic Club and the Clark College Foundation.
