Clark College fall concert Dec. 7, “Celebration of Joy!”Posted November 30th, 2012
The Clark College Concert Choir, under the direction of April Duvic, and the Clark College Concert Band, under the direction of Richard Inouye, will present their fall concert, “Celebration of Joy!” at 7:30 p.m. next Friday, Dec. 7, at Vancouver School of Arts and Academics Royal Durst Theatre, 3101 Main St., in the Shumway neighborhood of Vancouver.
The program will open with the Concert Choir singing an internationally diverse offering of seasonal selections, including “A Joyful Alleluia,” the Spanish Christmas carol “Esta Noche,” “Ose Shalom,” and “Baba Yetu,” the Lord’s Prayer in Swahili. Highlights from the Concert Band’s performance will include Rhapsodic Celebration by Robert Shelton and end with a beautiful composition by James Curnow, “Finale for a Winter Festival,” showcasing original themes based on traditional seasonal melodies.
