Clark athletes honored
Two freshmen who helped lead their teams to the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) championships have been named the February 2011 Clark College Student Athletes of the Month. Farrine Scott and Lucas Swanson were each honored for their positive attitude and commitment to excellence.
A graduate of Ridgefield High School, Scott played 10 games, averaging 64 percent from the free throw line and 53 percent from the field. She also plays softball and maintains a 3.15 grade point average.
A graduate of Mountain View High School, Swanson excelled at the NWAACC tournament, averaging more than 19 points, six rebounds, and two steals per game. He also earned a 3.66 grade point average.
The Student Athlete of the Month program recognizes both the academic and athletic achievements of Clark’s student athletes. Each honoree receives a jacket with her or her name stitched on it, provided by Les Schwab Tire Centers.
