Charles Guthrie named Clark College athletic director

Charles Guthrie has been named the new director of athletics at Clark College.
Guthrie comes to Clark from the California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA), where he served as deputy director of athletics, supporting the overall planning, direction and management of the intercollegiate athletic program.
A 2004 graduate of the NCAA Fellows Leadership Development Program, Guthrie also held intercollegiate athletics positions at Columbia University, Colgate University and the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC).
A native of Albany, N.Y., Guthrie received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Syracuse University and a master’s degree in education administration and policy studies from the University of Albany.
Guthrie succeeds Dennis Huston, who has served as interim director of athletics since fall 2008. Huston has also served on the boards of the Clark College Foundation and the Penguin Athletic Club, which he helped to establish. In 2005, Huston received the college’s Outstanding Alumni Award.
