CALEA accreditation team invites public comment June 13

Clark County Sheriff Chuck E. Atkins has announced that a team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will arrive on Sunday, June 11. CALEA will examine all aspects of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures, management, operations and support services.

Verification by the team that the Clark County Sheriff’s Office meets the Commission’s state-of-the-art standards is part of a voluntary process to gain accreditation for a 31st consecutive year–a highly prized recognition of public safety professional excellence.

As part of the assessment, agency personnel and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session on Tuesday, June 13, at 4:30 p.m., in the County Council Hearing Room Sixth Floor of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. Comments may also be made by calling 360 397-2417 on Monday, June 12, between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m. For more information regarding CALEA, call 703-352-4225 or www.calea.org.
