Clark College and the Director of the Clark College Jazz Festival, Richard Inouye, invites the community to three full days of exciting big band jazz at the 51st Annual Clark College Jazz Festival. The event will take place Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Jan. 24, through 26, in Gaiser Hall on the Clark College campus. Admission is $5 per day.
Sixty middle and high school jazz ensembles are scheduled to perform in this year’s competition with trophies presented to the top three jazz ensembles for middle schools and high schools, divisions A through AAAA. Individual outstanding musician awards will also be presented at the end of each day’s preliminary competitions. At the end of Saturday evening, the Dale Beacock Memorial Sweepstakes Award will be presented to one outstanding band selected from the entire festival.
The festival is held annually to promote the ideals of jazz music, provide a learning and motivating opportunity to all participating high school jazz students, and to enhance the musical education for Clark College students.
