Clark College celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Jan. 18, 19Posted January 11th, 2012
Service will be the focus of activities at Clark College on Wednesday, Jan. 18, and Thursday, Jan. 19. On Jan. 18, Clark welcomes social activist Kathleen D. Saadat, interim diversity development/affirmative action manager for the Human Resources Bureau of Portland. Saadat will speak at 11 a.m. in Clark’s Gaiser Student Center. On Jan. 19, community members are invited to join Clark volunteers serving at the Clark County Habitat for Humanity ReStore, 5000 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver. Volunteers will meet outside the Penguin Student Lounge in the Penguin Union Building at 1:30 p.m. Vans will transport volunteers to and from Habitat ReStore, where they will sort and organize merchandise, create new displays, price and stock donations, and do other tasks.
