The Port of Camas-Washougal Commission will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the Port Offices at 24 South A St., in Washougal. The meeting begins at 4 p.m.

CCHM announces new executive director

The Board of Trustees of the Clark County Historical Society (CCHS) and Museum has appointted Bradley Richardson as its new executive director, effective August 28. Richardson has worked previously for CCHS from 2011-2016 as museum curator, experience coordinator, and visitor services coordinator. Among his accomplishments were greatly expanding the successful Walking Tour Program, launching the History Town Halls series, and managing the exhibit design and museum collection. Born and raised in Camas and Washougal, Richardson holds an M.A. in Public History from Portland State University and a B.A. in History from Washington State University Vancouver. He was nominated for the 2017 George C. Marshall Public Leadership Award and recognized as a 2015 Visit Vancouver USA Tourism Ambassador.

Patrick Lamb and the Pop-Up Marketplace tonight in Esther Short Park

The Riverview Six to Sunset Concert Series continues with local legend, Patrick Lamb, this evening, Aug. 10, in Esther Short Park. Lamb regularly tours the world and performs as the “saxophonist to the stars” with with Grammy winners and luminaries like Gino Vannelli, Bobby Caldwell, Jeff Lorber Fusion, Tommy Thayer, Diane Schuur, Bobby Kimball, Alice Cooper, and Smokey Robinson. The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce’s Pop-Up Marketplace, also returns to the park, showcasing local options for goods and services.

Washougal Art Festival features regional artists this Saturday

The Washougal Art Festival will once again transform Washougal’s Reflection Plaza into a gallery of fine works of art. The event, presented by Washougal Arts and Culture Alliance, is Saturday Aug. 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the plaza, 1703 Main St. For a preview of the 27 participating artists, visit  www.WashougalArts.org.

Adding an extra layer of artistic fun to the day, performances by musical artists will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Performers include Wayne Havrelly, The Insanitizers, Caryn Jamieson, Tianna and the Hustle, and Jeffree White from Washougal School of Music

A popular elements of the festival is the raffle for works of art donated by participating artists. Tickets are $5 each, and visitors may choose the work of art they would like to win. The Paint Roller – Mobile Paint Party, will be offering free fun, artistic projects for children.

Local artist Cyndee Starr created the artwork used in the 2017 Washougal Art Festival promotions. A limited number of signed posters will be available for purchase at the festival for a $20 donation.
