Columbia Credit Union honored with 2017 Award for Workplace Excellence

Columbia Credit Union’s 2017 Employee Opinion Survey earned high marks and a 2017 Award for Workplace Excellence from Peter Barron Stark Companies. This honor is awarded to exceptional organizations committed to a culture of workplace excellence and is limited to those that achieve an overall favorable response exceeding 80 percent on their Employee Opinion Survey.

Columbia Credit Union’s 2017 Employee Opinion Survey was administered by Peter Barron Stark Companies in May 2017. It was sent to all employees and included 74 questions divided into 16 categories. Participation was high and 237 out of 271 employees completed the survey. Overall, Columbia Credit Union earned a high score of 90.8 out of 100 percent.

In addition to earning a 2017 Award for Workplace Excellence, Columbia Credit Union is recognized among the very top of the top-rated businesses nationally. Their overall survey score of 90.8 percent exceeds the 82.7 percent “Best of the Best” average of all businesses that took the Peter Barron Stark Employee Opinion Survey.

WSU Extension’s On the Road Tour Aug. 23, register by Aug. 15

WSU Extension Clark County Master Gardeners present: “Dazzling Dahlias, Pottery, and Uncommon Plants On the Road Tour.”  The first stop is at Master Gardener Eve Hanlin’s home and her dahlia garden with a presentation on caring for dahlias. The Hanlin family creates unique pottery items which will be available for sale.

The next stop on the journey is Swan Island Dahlias in Canby, OR, where participants can enjoy nearly 40 acres of gardens, have the opportunity to purchase tubers, and see an indoor display as well. The last stop is Secret Garden Growers which features garden displays of uncommon plants which can be purchased.

Lunch is “on your own” at Nuevo Vallarta in Canby. The tour includes van transportation and begins and ends at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, 9319 NE Hwy 99, Hazel Dell. Primary Care Clinic hosts grand opening Aug. 9

Vancouver Primary Care Clinic is hosting a grand opening and open house this Wednesday, Aug. 9. The VA has been serving veterans in Vancouver with primary care services since May 1946, when President Truman authorized the transfer of the U.S. Army Barnes General Hospital to the VA. With over 20,000 square feet and 30 exam rooms, the new facility nearly doubles the size of the existing clinic. Services to veterans are scheduled to start on Aug. 14. The celebration is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at VA Portland Health Care System, Vancouver Campus, 1601 E Fourth Plain Blvd. Refreshments will be provided.

Guide to Grants seminar Aug. 16

U.S. Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler will host a Guide to Grants seminar on Wednesday, Aug. 16. The event will bring together a variety of experts and successful grantees to provide best practices and strategies on how to produce more competitive proposals & applications for federal grants. The workshop is from 9 a.m. to noon, at WSU Vancouver. Due to space limitations, RSVPs are required by August 9. For more information and to register,click here . The cost for parking is $3.
